Michael Johns Q & A Video With 102.7 At Fresh in the Park!

Michael took a few minutes to answer some questions for the Fresh 102.7 crew at the show held at Eisenhower Park on August 15, 2009.  My thanks to 102.7 for sharing this and so much more of Michael Johns on their website.  They were actually playing his single "Heart On My Sleeve" (free download of the single at Amazon.com) at the very same moment I found this interview!

Have a look at the 102.7 site by clicking HERE!  You can listen to their shows live online any time. I'm hoping they'll post the actual performance videos of all the stars that were there that day. You can be certain I'll post the news if those show up too!

Michael Johns and Brooke White 2009 Tour Links

Originally published at BC Magazine at the following link.

American Idol Alums Michael Johns and Brooke White Go On Tour
As is our custom at BC Magazine, we deliver the news more thoroughly than virtually every other news source out there.  It's not enough to hear that American Idol Season 7 finalists Michael Johns and Brooke White will be touring together this summer.  That much is widely known already.  But to fully deliver the story to you, not only will you find the dates and a list of what cities, but you'll also find links to each of the venues below.  You should expect no less than that from a quality source of news.

Fresh 102.7Before I get to the actual Michael Johns/Brooke White Tour 2009, there are a few other engagements to announce in the meantime. Michael Johns and Brooke White will be performing a free concert this coming Saturday, August 15, alongside Carolina Liar and fellow Idol Alum Elliott Yamin.  The concert will be held at Eisenhower Park, East Meadow Long Island and is being presented by Fresh 102.7.  Check out the details at the radio stations website.

There are no tickets to buy and no tickets you have to win.  As a matter of fact, you don't have to do anything but be there for the show.  I would suggest the you bring your newly bought CDs of Michael Johns new album Hold Back My Heart, or Brooke White's High Hopes and Heartbreak, and Elliott Yamin just released Fight For Love in May.  If you're lucky enough, you might get your CDs autographed by the stars themselves.  Idols have the tendency to stick around for awhile and do things like that for their fans.  You can also find Carolina Liar's album Coming To Terms to bring along with you.

Michael JohnsThere's still at least one other show to tell you about before delivering the summer tour dates.  According to a press release made by Live-PR, Michael Johns will be performing at the 5th Annual Miss Malibu Pageant being held on August 23rd, 2009.  That audience can look forward to hearing songs from Michael's debut album Hold Back My Heart (available on iTunes, Amazon.com, and retail stores everywhere). The album features Michael's new single "Heart On My Sleeve", which can be downloaded FREE from Amazon.com on the album link.

The Miss Malibu Pageant will be held at a mansion formerly owned by Cher and will be host to ten celebrity judges from the movie, television and music industry.  The list of distinguished guest judges includes ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Linda Thompson, and Elizabeth Rohm, just to name a few.

Musical entertainment for the event will be provided by Michael Johns and Atlantic Records recording artist Ryan Cabrera.  Please click on Live- PR to see further details on the 5th Annual Miss Malibu Pageant.

With Michael Johns and Brooke White touring together, fans might also look forward to hearing them perform "Life Is Okay" from the soundtrack album Don't Look Down.  Although it was originally scored for the Shaun White documentary, the soundtrack was an independent effort co-written and produced by Foxworth, Johns, and Randa.  The album is seventeen tracks (eighteen songs) of sheer creative brilliance, and was nominated for "Best Original Music Score" at the 2009 X-Dance.

And now for the dates and venues, along with the links for more information on how to purchase tickets.  Almost all of the venues offer a discount for tickets that are purchased in advance.  Most every website I visited listed the ticket price as $20.00 in advance and a few dollars more if you wait to purchase your tickets until at the door or box office on the day of the tour.  That's why I took the time to include the links and phone numbers in advance.

David FosterIf you read my previous interview with Michael Johns featured in the article "Former American Idol Finalist Michael Johns Discusses Hold Back My Heart", which was published here at BC Magazine, you'll already know that Michael Johns will continue to tour after he's finished the summer dates.  In October, he'll be joining David Foster and Friends as they take the stars that fill up the DVD and CD of the same name on the road this autumn.

David Foster's Website is professionally done and includes all the links to find which cities will be graced by this "Hitman" and how to purchase tickets to this incredible showcase of multiple talents.  Instead of retyping and linking each venue, I'll just furnish you with the cities and venues, and a link to David Foster's site instead.  There are fabulous photos of all the stars that were featured on the PBS special as well.  Do yourself a favor and go have a look by clicking on his name above.

As is the case with all of my articles, I'll leave you with this promise.  If there is other Michael Johns news or more dates that are added to either of the tours listed above, you can just about bet I'll be back to deliver that news personally.

Even David Foster himself recognized the talent and potential in this shining new star.  On his DVD David Foster and Friends, David is quoted as saying this of Michael Johns. "He is destined for greatness for years to come, I promise."  What a compliment to come from a man of such tremendous stature in the music industry.  I tend to agree with his opinion.  David has been successfully Fostering huge new talents for years.

I'll leave you with this one final wish for those of you who just can't wait to see your Idols or David Foster with all of his talented friends on tour.  May every fan out there find a tour date in a city near you.  Cheers and best wishes until next time.

Michael Johns Interview - New Album, New Single, New Management

Former American Idol Finalist Michael Johns Discusses Hold Back My Heart

At one of the absolute busiest times in his life, Michael Johns took the time to sit down and answer some questions for BC Magazine about his upcoming tour and new album.

The American Idol Season 7 Finalist is just one day away from releasing his debut album, Hold Back My Heart (Downtown Records); it drops Tuesday, June 23rd.

Michael's first single "Heart On My Sleeve" from that album, was the #1 most requested song at AOL Radio when they launched a Tweet Request only radio station, and is currently climbing Billboard's AC charts. Because the Tweet Request channel was only meant to stay live for a week, AOL Radio added the single to their Pop Idol and New Music First stations.

Although Michael is fairly active in the social media scene, finding time to keep up with him would take anyone to task. He's recently been spending most of his time traveling coast to coast doing radio tours and promotional concerts. He'll be touring the country with Brooke White (another American Idol Season 7 Finalist) beginning in August, then he's been asked to join David Foster and Friends on Tour in October.

How he made time for an interview, I'll never know, but I'm so thankful he cared enough to share the following answers with us.

How was putting this album together different from assembling your own (unreleased) records previously?

The most natural thing I've ever done. I mean it was seriously effortless to write and record. Great players and the songs came from the sky.

Is the songwriting process something you can describe?

Some people can but I can't. I just get in the room and let it flow. I try not to think about it too much for fear that the tap may stop running.

Do you have particular writing habits or rituals?

No, I just try to get in the mood of the song. I sometimes go months on end without writing a tune. I don't press writing I just let it come to me.

How did the opportunity to tour with Brooke White present itself? What are the advantages (or disadvantages) of touring with someone else rather than going solo?

We just really like each other and our sound has similar fans. She is one of my favorite singers around. I think people will hopefully enjoy what we do.

When you go on tour with David Foster and Friends in October, will you be doing the same songs you did on the CD (of the same name), or will you still be able to perform some of your solo music in support of your Hold Back My Heart album?

Some the same and also my own tunes. David has been such a support and really wants to see me succeed. He's the man and it was an honor to be asked, glad we could clear the schedule.

How important do you feel album art or shelf appearance is in drawing attention and sales to the album?

It's not my bag, but I love the artists that put it together, it really is amazing.

As you may know, I've written several pieces before about your work with Rye Randa and Jeff Foxworth for the soundtrack Don't Look Down, as well as your solo efforts. I recently noticed on your MySpace player that the record label is now Fontana South. Is there any truth to the news I recently got from a friend that you're no longer with TRP, and if so, who is now your management team?

TRP is no longer a label.

Just to confirm, TRP is still your management then?

No they are not. Michael Goldberg and Sanctuary are.

Can you tell us what caused the change in management and label?

Shit happens.

I've heard that your song "Dangerous" (not on this album) is going to be used in a film. Can you tell us which one?

Really hadn't heard…you tell me. (laugh)

There's a distinctly different flavor in music from each of the groups you've worked with in the past when compared to the new album. How would you describe the progression from when you first started in the music business until now?

I finally found me! It really is a dream come true as a singer to find your real voice.

Who wrote the storyline for your upcoming "Heart On My Sleeve" video, and why does it fit the song so well? (When can we see it, if you know?)

Nothing has been written in stone. I have a concept I think is cool but the director may have a way better idea.

Can you tell us about any behind-the-scenes projects your fans aren't aware of? (Like working with Air Supply for "Hold On", co-writing a song for Brooke's album, appearing on Hannah Montana, guest hosting The Today Show, etc.)

It's funny so many things get told to me in any given week. I try not to get my hopes up. It is nice, however, that different shows or clients keep wanting me to do things. Some work out, some fall through, but I'm having a great time right now.

We've seen your "Old School" and Christmas video "Please Don't Bomb Nobody This Holiday" with The Dan Band. Do you have future projects with The Dan Band you can tell us about?

Dan is a genius! I love him so much and whenever he calls to include me in his next hilarious project... I'm in.

What other artists or producers would you most like to work with in the future?

Dave Cobb, Dave Cobb, Dave Cobb.

To what or whom do you attribute your sense of humor, or are you just naturally gifted with wit?

Probably God. I mean doesn't everyone thank him? Kidding, look most Aussie's have a good wit; we are a relaxed people.

What guilty pleasure would most surprise your fans if they knew?

I love to watch horrible movies on my days off. I mean anything I know that will be terrible like Glitter or Ernest does something. (laughs)

Your name is associated to an extent with certain products (i.e. Papa Johns Pizza, Patron Tequila, Garnier Fructis, Chick-fil-A, etc.) even if those associations were unintentional. If you could choose any product on Earth that you would officially endorse (or to have sponsor your tour), what would it be and why?

Michael Johns' Chick-fil-A tour has a nice ring to it…so does set sail with Captain Morgan and Michael Johns.

When you were on American Idol, most of us weren't aware that in addition to being a fabulous singer, you're also an accomplished song writer and musician. Not that it matters now that you've made a successful solo career for yourself, but do you feel playing guitar or piano on American Idol would've made a difference? What made you decide not to play an instrument on the show?

Well. thank you. Look, I just never found the song I thought would work. I wanted to play INXS - "Never Tear Us Apart" acoustic, but I was told the song wasn't allowed. I think that song is as sexy as it gets to sing.

Having spent a number of years in the music business and suffering some unfortunate luck with a few previous labels going belly up or restructuring, I'm sure you've seen a lot of unscrupulous behavior, up to and including what I would personally consider outright thievery.

Now you've graced what most would consider is the world's largest music stage by achieving Finalist status on American Idol. That experience gives you a most unique platform from which to speak about the music industry in general. Any comment?

Look, Idol is so huge because the music industry has failed in the last eight years. People still love music as much as ever, but the industry thinks looks and age are more important than talent. Idol put an end to that. Introduced us to great singers we'd otherwise never know.

Quite honestly, I trimmed my list of questions down from over six pages of things I'd like to know about him, but I figured playing 20 questions with Michael Johns would be enough for now. After all, he's got a new album and tour to see about and I wouldn't want to keep him another second from doing that.

Between doing concerts, and promotional tours, and appearances on radio and television, Michael somehow finds the time to be both a music star and a husband. His wife of two years, Stacey Vuduris, is a star in her own right.

Well known as and interior designer, Stacey's design for Kristen Bell's home is currently being featured in a layout for the July issue of InStyle Magazine. You can find out more about her and see some of her work at her new website Stacey Vuduris Interior Design. I'd like to offer her my personal thanks for sharing some precious hubby time for BC Magazine.

Michael Johns can be found in the social media on Twitter, MySpace Music, and Facebook. He's done video chats on Stickam with over 6000 fans in attendance, all throwing questions at him at once. (Poor guy. No guarantees on how often he'll be doing that one.) He sends out telephone messages through Jamship, a service to which you can subscribe and receive weekly phone calls. For those of you who are into social media, be sure to go there and add him.

You can find his new album Hold Back My Heart on Amazon.com, iTunes, and stores everywhere starting June 23rd. His first single "Heart On My Sleeve" can be downloaded and heard on the radio now. You'll find Amazon.com links to most all of his music below this article.

You'll find him touring in August with Brooke White, and in October with David Foster and Friends. Hopefully, he'll come to a city near you. What you will not be able to find is somebody else standing on line in front of me to purchase his new album. Just listening to samples of all 12 songs, I already know, I must have this entire album to add to my Michael Johns collection of genius.

My sincere thanks to Michael for sharing his news and taking the time to do an interview. From the very first time I heard him say "It Can Happen" on American Idol, I somehow knew that it would.

Congratulations, Mate! It's happening now. Cheers, and my heartfelt best wishes for many more years of future success.

"Life Is Okay" For Michael Johns and Brooke White - The NARM Performance Video

NARM (National Association of Recording Merchandisers) held their 2009 Convention last week and was host to some of the best known names in the music business.  NARM is a non-profit organization devoted to advancing music by bringing together all aspects of the industry.  For deatiled information on what they do, please visit their site.

Michael Johns and Brooke White provided entertainment for the finale event and headlined individual sets as well as joining to perform their duet "Life Is Okay" for the first time since it was recorded for the soundtrack album Don't Look Down.   In addition to their performances last week, Daryl Hall and Johns Oates played at the Awards Dinner Finale, held on Wednesday, June 10th.  Here's the convention news of Michael Johns and Brooke White as it was published at the NARM website:
Photobucket

These two American Idol alums teamed up recently for the hit single “Life is Okay” for the “Don’t Look Down” soundtrack and will meet again on the NARM stage for the Awards Dinner Finale.
Brooke White turned heads during last season’s “Idol” by delivering breathtaking renditions of songs by the Beatles, Dolly Parton and Neil Diamond. After she sang Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain,” Simon proclaimed White to be her favorite “Idol” vocalist. Her new album, “High Hopes and Heartbreak,” will be released this summer. Randy Jackson plays Executive Producer on the album.
Michael Johns delivers blue-eyed Soul as it’s meant to be heard. His new album, “Heart On My Sleeve,” due in stores June 16, is devoid of the typical glossy veneer applied to most modern albums, but heavy on vibe. It has a Blues-Country feel, with swelling strings accenting the delectable Pop of the album’s first single of the same title.
Okay, big gig, but not so big on accurate journalism. Michael Johns' new album is titled Hold Back My Heart and it's due out on June 23rd. I'll give them credit for getting the name of the single right. "Heart On My Sleeve" from his debut album is available on iTunes and Amazon.com now!

To hear 30 second clips of all 12 song titles on the album, go to Amazon.com and listen today! If you can't wait to say you own the very best in music, you can pre-order the full CD at Amazon.com!

I was hoping for full videos of their performances last week, but this is what was posted on YouTube. Here's a collection of video clips from the June 10th performance.  This video does give you a taste of what to expect from both artists.

Brooke performs her new single, "Radio, Radio" from her debut album High Hopes and Heartbreak.  Michael performs "To Love Somebody" also on his debut album in addition to eleven original tunes, and finally the duet we've all been waiting to see.  Michael and Brooke sing the duet "Life Is Okay" from the Don't Look Down soundtrack. (an independent album produced by Johns, Foxworth, and Randa).

Is Michael Johns On Downtown Records?

Has Michael finally given us some new information? It seems like he has signed with Downtown Records- the same indie label that manages Gnarls Barkley! Yay! It sounds awesome. You can watch the interview here. And we finally have Michael confirming the date of his album release on tape.

Some information about Downtown Records (from wiki):

Downtown Records is a record label owned and operated by Downtown Music LLC. Music on the Downtown label is distributed by Universal Music's Fontana and for certain releases, a joint venture with Atlantic Records. The company also has a marketing/promotion deal with Interscope which covers select albums on Downtown and its three distributed labels Dim Mak, Fool's Gold and Mercer Street.

Michael Johns - From The Beginning

If you're an American Idol fan, you already know Michael Johns is the sexy Aussie whose unexpected elimination caused an uproar to sweep the nation in America Idol's Season 7, which aired in 2007-2008.

The American Idol Tour 2008 ended on September 13th, 2008, but for Michael Johns, the end of the tour only marked a new beginning to his musical career. The following is an in-depth look at the man, his past, his present, and his undeniable future.

For those of you who don't watch the "reality" show, I've included a picture and a description. What you can't really appreciate in the photo on a computer screen, are the proportions at which you're looking. Athletically speaking, he's a prime specimen of manliness. His 6' 2" in height and muscular build give him a physical advantage in sports. Add to that his extremely competitive nature, and you've got yourself one Hot Aussie sportsman.

His musical journey in America began in 1998. That's when he left Australia and moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he lived for six years. He attended college at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia on a tennis scholarship.

While living in Atlanta, Michael joined a USAFL Australian football rules club, and was a team player with the Atlanta Kookaburras. He left college soon after arriving to pursue his musical career. For his fans, that's where his rise to fame begins. Here's what it took to become the Michael Johns as we all know him now.

Before he was introduced to the world on American Idol with the stage name Michael Johns, he was best known by his given name, which is Michael Lee. He performed with Jeff Bramwell and Hank Barbee while living in Atlanta. Michael Lee is also the name that he used as lead singer on the EP released while with the band Film.

In 2001, Michael traveled to Los Angeles to showcase music for a number of labels, and was signed with Maverick Records. It was there he found band members Robb Torres and Kevin Haaland (guitarists), Ari Gorman (bass), and Kirke Blankenship (drums), to form the rock band The Rising.

The Rising's story is best described in the following interview with Michael, as published by:

The Rising's Michael Lee came to the US with a dream
By: Will Jordan,

While getting signed to Maverick Records was a major step for Atlanta-based rock group The Rising, the band realizes it's only the beginning. That's why the quintet is taking their music on the road, playing smaller venues and trying diligently to build a fan base.

We're playing nearly every night, said frontman Michael Lee with traces of his native Australian accent still dangling. The singer admitted touring hasn't always been an enjoyable experience. At a lot of places, people still don't know who we are, he said. We're such a new band sometimes it's unpredictable.

Lee has been singing in bands since he was very young, and was looking for a way to take it to the next level when he was given the answer by You Am I singer Tim Rogers, who was performing in 1997 at the Australian music festival Big Day Out.

I'd always been a big fan of You Am I, so when they finished their set, I snuck backstage and approached lead singer Tim Rogers for advice, Lee said. He told me if I wanted to make something happen, I had to go to the States.

The young singer packed his bags and headed for Atlanta instead of Los Angles or New York because he felt his chances were better in a smaller setting. Within a month, he met a fellow Aussie and club owner who gave him a job washing dishes and cleaning toilets and eventually allowed the fledgling vocalist to sit in occasionally with local bands. Eventually Lee met a guitarist and became the club's headlining cover band.

The next few years, Lee spent days writing and honing original songs and nights performing covers. Recording a demo in 2001, Lee went to Los Angeles where he showcased for several labels, eventually inking an exclusive pact with Maverick Records.

He then began assembling the elements of his new band, picking and choosing from the talent the LA music scene had to offer, including drummer Kirke Blankenship, guitarists Robb Torres and Kevin Haaland and bassist Ari Gorman.

The newly forged The Rising realized they had an electrifying creative energy about them when they played their songs in front of an audience. With today's technology, anyone can record an album, but not everyone can pull it off live, Lee said. We elevate it to the next level when we play live.

The singer admitted he wishes he could get into the studio and rerecord, but for now The Rising is currently touring for their debut release, Future Unknown, produced by Rick Beato and Lee, and recorded at Southern Tracks in Atlanta.

All my life I dreamed of making an album like this with a band like this, Lee said. We want to be a source of inspiration, a reason to believe, a way of seeing the world. Maybe that's a lot to ask from a bunch of simple songs, but music has made a difference in all our lives. This is our way of passing it along.
What the interview doesn't say about The Rising, is the success they should now be enjoying. His first real shot at fame was while fronting as lead singer for newly formed group The Rising. They wrote and recorded their debut album Future Unknown and perfected the level of performance excellence they demanded of themselves before taking their tour nationwide.

The band was well on its way to the stardom all of them should now be enjoying. They performed on The Rock Boat, and were featured on The Sharon Osbourne Show, a nationally syndicated television program. Ozzy's wife is well known for having good taste, and can judge exceptional talent when she sees it.

In 2003, the group performed an outstanding acoustical set at the opening of a Los Angeles Apple Store. Thankfully, that event was recorded and has been released for download as The Rising - Live At The Apple Store EP. Clicking on the link above will take you directly to the EP, which can be heard on Amazon.com.

Taking their music on the road, members of The Rising were determined to put everything that they had into their live performances. It wasn't enough to just play for the fans, they wanted the audience to experience the emotion that went into writing the songs.

Groups of this caliber and uncompromising standards are rarely found any more. Legendary bands whose music survives even now and spans decades, practiced that same dedication to excellence when they performed. Inexplicably, these musicians somehow knew what it took to connect with their audience.

Though The Rising as a band is no longer together, we are left with their stellar performances. It seems I'm not the only writer to accuse this singer and fellow musicians of evoking in us, emotions unbidden. While researching former band members for this piece, I ran across yet another writer who noticed Michael's gift of expressing the feeling that went into the artists rendition of the music.

In a blog posted at former Rising guitartist Kevin Haaland's music website, I found the following excerpt from an article by Sona Sood.
Live Review - The Rising @ The Roxy

The Rising- Live Review- Category: Music

The band took the stage with sophistication and proved they could win over a Los Angeles crowd. The lyrics are heart felt and moving as the emotions can be heard seeping out in every note Michael sings. Down to the blood that was on Kevin's fingers after the set, this band truly believes in the power of music and it comes across in their performances. Michael Lee once said he wants to create the kind of music "that puts you in a trance". This band indeed creates timeless music which will carry you away into a different world.

You would think with the rave reviews like the one above, just landing a "Major" label contract with Maverick Records and playing brilliantly should assure the band's successful future. Most people believe that's all it takes to succeed in the music world. Just get yourself a major label record deal and play extraordinarily well in front of your audience. The equation sounds simple enough. Massive talent + Major label = Superstardom.

The Rising recorded at least thirty five songs while with this "Major" label. Eleven of those magnificent tunes ended up on its debut album - Future Unknown. Michael Johns and Rick Beato co-produced the debut CD The Rising- Future Unknown.

This album enjoys five star reviews at such sites as Amazon.com and iTunes, and it's some of the best down to earth rock music that I've ever heard. A number of songs from the album got national radio play while the band toured.

The "Major" label that was originally supposed to release the CD on September 16, 2003, withheld release of the album until Michael Johns became well known as a finalist on American Idol. That's when the label decided to put the CD on iTunes and cash in on Michael Johns' success.

Thankfully, Michael Johns' story doesn't end here. The live EP and full length CD can be heard by clicking on the named releases listed above. Videos of the band performing at the opening of the Apple Store are posted HERE. for your viewing pleasure.

At his wife Stacey's suggestion, Michael auditioned for American Idol in San Diego in 2007 and earned a spot on the show. He sailed through the competition in Hollywood and was named one of the Top 12 Finalists. In one of the most shocking eliminations ever to take place on the show, Michael finished in eighth place after never having been in the bottom three votes. That surprise elimination had all the fans quickly to arms, questioning the shows credibility, and earning Michael Johns instant celebrity status.

The next part of Michael Johns journey was encompassed in an introduction I wrote for a scrapbook given to Michael Johns from just one of his many fan sites. Here's what I wrote for them.
The American Idol Tour – 2008

No one book can fully contain the memories you'll take with you from the summer tour of 2008. It was most splendidly spent touring the nation with your friends from American Idol - Season 7. All of the Top Ten are Idols where the fans are concerned, so the following list is in no particular order. That close-knit bunch of friends who were along for your journey included, David Cook, Carly Smithson, Jason Castro, Brooke White, Chikezie, David Archuleta, Kristy Lee Cook, Ramiele Malubay, and Syesha Mercado.
These were the winners from over 100,000 people who auditioned for the show. America chose who earned the right to tour and take center stage along with you. The tour began July 1st in Glendale, AZ, and offered 53 performances in over 40 cities spanning America, and parts of Canada before ending on September 13th in Tulsa, OK. Shows were sold out as 10,000-15,000 fans flocked to the venues in droves to see their American Idols each night. Those are the stats, now let's get to the facts.

Virtually every review listed you as the star that you are. Page after page expounded your unequaled level of "arena" ready performances. With a set that included Queen's "We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions", your soulful rendition of Dolly Parton's, "It's All Wrong, But It's Alright", and your stunning Aerosmith's "Dream On", tour reviews soon were claiming you took the limelight. It was clear to us all along, even before the tour shone its light on you with the special introduction in U2's "Pride".
A rumor started by one fan said the other Idols wanted you arrested for stealing the show each night. Your constant antics have filled your fans with mischief as well. Meet and greet gifts of coconut bras, and Superman capes, and Ninja poses, just to mention a few.

Most of us couldn't wait each night; just to hear what prank you'd pulled on your friends. Whoopee cushions in dressing rooms, constant bantering back and forth. Silly string fights, hula-hoops, pompoms, and umbrellas, were just a few of the props for dance offs between you and David Cook, your partner in crime, and the infamous Mavid.
What an uproar it caused with the fans when they tried to take it away. Mavid rapidly became one of the highlights and most anticipated parts of the show. Sold out arenas demanded that their stars be allowed to have as much fun as we had, while watching you frolic on stage.

So many times, you expressed your gratitude in being able to share this once in a lifetime opportunity. Your appreciation showed as you accepted the gifts specially made with loving hands just for you. Playing to stadiums full of squealing fans, you stayed humble throughout the tour.
During interviews you said, "Playing 10,000 plus arena's is something reserved for the U2's and Madonna's of the world." Every chance you had, you took your love for your fans outside to the ones who were there to see you. Adoring faces awaited your arrival, for just a picture, or an autograph, and in some cases, just a glimpse of their Idol. You gave as much of yourself as you had.

While we could never hope to capture each memory that you have of this tour, pieces of what you've accomplished this summer are here for you to remember. From all of your adoring fans, we thank you for sharing your journey while you were on tour. The following pages are filled with only a few of the memories you've given to us.

Think we've gotten to the end yet? As previously mentioned, this is just the beginning. Michael's already had several releases since leaving American Idol behind. I'll be back to fill in the rest of the news and will include from September 2008 until now. Stay tuned for his debut single announcement and the album release date. You'll know those as soon as I do.

Don't Look Down Soundtrack Now Made Available To International Fans

Photobucket
Rye Randa, Michael Johns, and Jeff Foxworth.

As some of you already know, the Michael Johns, Rye Randa, and Jeff Foxworth soundtrack Don't Look Down featuring the Michael Johns/Brooke White duet "Life Is Okay" isn't available to fans outside the United States. Brace yourselves for this happy news!

Rye Randa is the hero to every international fan currently unable to download the soundtrack "Don't Look Down".  He's making the download available to all Michael Johns, Rye Randa, Jeff Foxworth, and Brooke White fans that don't have access to the soundtrack through Amazon.com or iTunes.

In an email I received today, he asked that I post the news of his gift. He's placed the soundtrack on his website and made it available for purchase there.
Hey Rebecca-

Wanted to let you know I've been getting quite a few emails from Michael's international fans, especially in Australia who have been very frustrated because they cannot buy the soundtrack.  For some reason iTunes and Amazon have only made it available in the U.S. (not smart on their part).  So until we deal with that issue, we have made the soundtrack available to the international community as a download from my website www.ryemusic.com.  Would you mind posting something in the forum, or wherever else you think would be appropriate?  Hopefully this will satisfy some of the fans who've been feeling neglected!

Thanks Rebecca!

Hope all is well.

-Rye

As always, it's my pleasure to share any words I get from him.  Enjoy the news, and for those of you who didn't have access before, enjoy the soundtrack as well.
