Michael Johns Tribute To The Care Blair Foundation

Following up on the All-Campus Idol event held in Madison, WI for which Michael Johns was a judge and performer, I've come back to fill in the rest of the story. Michael Johns consistently shows his inherent goodness by giving of himself with his music.

His charitable acts have been shared dating back to the first time he, Rye Randa, and Jeff Foxworth did a song for the "Ithuteng" project. I've chronicled his acts of kindness for ages now, it seems. Here's yet another act of his giving to add to the list.

Michael performs for the children at UW Health Children's Hospital in Madison, WI. Here's what the Blair Beinhaker Friendship Foundation had to say about Michael Johns and the other performers that day.

CARE BLAIRS

“Care Blairs” is a project where the funds from our foundation will be used to put a smile on the faces of children and young adults who have been stricken with severe ailments or challenging situations. What ever it takes to achieve some joy… we will send them to a show, concert, purchase something needed, or fulfill a frivolous desire. Blair believed in the power of love and friendship. “Care Blairs” will sustain Blair’s legacy.

On April 21, 2009, the Blair Beinhaker Friendship Foundation, UW- Madison's WASB, and American Idol Alum- Michael Johns, teamed up to visit the UW Health Children's Hospital in Madison WI to perform for the children.

First, three of the All-Campus Idol 2009 contestants performed original songs. Then, Michael Johns took the stage.

Upon hearing that Blair loved The Beatles, Michael decided to sing the classic song, 'Across the Universe.' This visit definitely put a smile on everyone's faces.

Since 2004, the Blair Beinhaker Friendship Foundation has granted many ‘Care Blairs’ each year.

Enjoy the music from the only true "Idol" whose story I've ever bothered to follow. His generosity and caring for others stands as a shining example to us all.

And here's how she described the second video from that day.
Music is one of the most heartwarming gifts someone can give. Blair was a diehard music fan, as most of you know, especially when it comes to The Beatles. As you may have seen on the 'Care Blairs' page, American Idol Alum, Michael Johns, honored Blair with his rendition of 'Across the Universe' during our hospital visit to UW Health's American Family Children's Hospital, earlier this week.

He also sang an original song for the intimate audience of hospital patients and their families, All-Campus Idol contestants, and hospital workers.

In fact, we were given the rare honor to spend time with a musician on the same day that this single (his first,) debuted on the radio.

Michael Johns supported BBFF, please help us support him and download his single. I promise it is worth it. Just watch and listen to this rendition.

Enjoy this amazing, heartfelt performance of "Heart on my Sleeve."
